  • Wait for it….

I recommend people cease from doing meth.  I also recommend we decriminalize it so meth addicts can get some help, and stop causing house fires with the chemicals used to make it, and doing other crazy stuff.  My cousin was killed by a meth user running from the police.  Amphetamines can make people psycho so they think they can do things like, well, I won’t spoil the ending for you.

But let’s remember this guy is innocent til proven guilty of the charges.

  • Debt and Self-Determination

    (GOPHouse.gov) July 20, 2011

There is nothing inherently wrong with debt.  Consumers use it every day, and for the vast majority of us it would be impossible to own a home or buy a car without it. But how much debt you have, relative to who owns it and your ability to pay it back, is an important concern everyday around kitchen tables across Michigan. For a government of, for, and by the people, it should therefore be a concern for both our state and federal governments as well.  But considering that United States debt as a percentage of our gross domestic product is now approaching 100 percent, a number not seen here since the World War II era, the concerns of the American people are obviously not being heard.

The power of the purse is another important consideration when looking at debt, as who controls the purse controls the power.  I have seen this firsthand as a state representative, with Michigan relying on roughly a third of its budget from federal funds and being subjected to a multitude of federal whims and attached strings that help support a Washington D.C. agenda that is often at odds with the true needs of Michigan taxpayers. As a strong advocate of the 10th Amendment and state powers, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Michigan to chart its own course.

Compounding the problem however is that much of the money the federal government is “giving” us is money that it simply doesn’t have.  In its quest to insert itself into areas best left to the states, the amount of spending and debt have reached the point where the federal government is now putting its own sovereignty at stake by borrowing more and more from foreign sources.

A December 2010 Congressional Budget Office report laid out the best measure of true public debt, which has been put at $9.74 trillion dollars (overall gross debt has been pegged at $14.3 trillion).  What we owe to foreign sources represents a staggering 46% of our public debt. China was reported as the top foreign debt owner, at $1.15 trillion dollars.  If who controls the purse controls the power, the federal government needs to wake up to the fact that getting our debt under control is not just a matter of fiscal importance but one of sovereignty and self-determination.

I have sponsored HCR 06 here in Michigan to join with other states in an effort to compel the federal government to adopt a balanced budget amendment. Given the track record of Congress, we will not get one unless we demand it. But without one, the United States will be forced to sell more of its assets to other governments, pay tolls on our roads and infrastructure to foreign powers, and see more power ceded to those outside of our borders. Debt is a powerful tool when properly used, but the pendulum in the United States has swung too far and we are in jeopardy of becoming beholden to those who can hold an increasingly larger purse over our heads.

  • Proposed NAFTA Superhighway Detroit/Windsor bridge unnecessary

If you jump to 10:30 in this video you’ll hear some very rational, compelling arguments against building a new bridge between Detroit USA and Windsor Canada, right next to the existing one.  There’s no reason for Michigan to contract out the construction of a new bridge when the economy has shrunk so drastically and the traffic has decreased.  Customs is causing the majority of traffic getting across the bridge now, not bridge capacity.   Let’s fix the customs delay first, then see if any need for more bridge capacity exists. If so, construction and maintenance can be done by local workers from Michigan and Canada employed by both our local governments.

New World Order globalists are attempting to award construction contracts to their international cronies like they did in Texas with Cintra (a Spanish company building roads there), or Dubai Ports (owned by the United Arab Emirates Government), which now owns our deep water sea ports.  A few people could get rich of this in the short term but the long term cost to citizens would be much higher, in the form of paying our tolls to a foreign government instead of into our local economy, not to mention when they bring out their private security squads like TSA or Blackwater/XE and start x-raying us every time we drive thru a toll booth, nobody’s going to like that.

As corrupt as things are in Detroit, and as inadequate as the road repairs have been in some areas, these problems pale in comparison of the corruption of the NWO Globalists.  Unless we want to pay tolls to a private company for eternity, all roads and bridges need to be publicly owned and funded.  If we let a private company come in here and buy off our elected officials and build a big white elephant toll bridge, we’re going to have our butts handed to us financially.  They’re coming in here saying they’ll finance it up front, but as you probably know THERE’S NO FREE LUNCH.

  • Detroit closing half of its public schools

Bobb told to consolidate services, close half of schools to end deficit

Jennifer Chambers / The Detroit News

Lansing— Swift and severe changes are coming to Detroit Public Schools.

  • Detroit Is Halting Garbage Pickup, Police Patrols In 20% Of City: Expect Bankruptcy In 2011

(Business Insider) Detroit has been bankrupt for years. It simply refuses to admit it. Detroit’s schools are bankrupt as well. A mere 25% of students graduate from high school.

Yet, in spite of hints and threats from mayors and budget commissions, and in spite of common sense talk of bankruptcy, Detroit has not pulled the bankruptcy trigger.

In a futile attempt to stave off the inevitable one last time, Mayor Bing’s latest plan is to cutoff city services including road repairs, police patrols, street lights, and garbage collection in 20% of Detroit.

  • Intense chemtrail coverage in Southern Michigan

Apparently today atmospheric conditions are right for persistent chemtrail formation.

With our flag aptly being flown at half mast under a sky of chemically seeded clouds, I had to stop and take a few pics this morning.

Look, people… THESE ARE NOT NATURAL CLOUDS.  Look at how they’re all in straight lines, not fluffy and random. My 6 year old picked up on the difference on his own the other day, but can you?  Are you awake?

  • Why is there a Gardasil ad on my coffee cup?

I stopped in to Amer’s Deli tonight (on State Street in Ann Arbor) for a sandwich, and discovered they are hawking Gardasil for Merck now.

Naturally I was curious how this ad was placed there so I asked what the deal was.  He said they get the cup insulators for free and they have ads on them.  I informed him that some people, especially in Ann Arbor might be offended by this and he might want to think about the content of these ads, and whether it’s actually going to result in any savings.  He was quite aggravated.

So let’s just look at the numbers.  Personally, after the way that manager-ish guy barked at me that “Well you’re always going to offend someone”  I’m less inclined to go there for the 2-3 sandwiches (conservatively) per month I have at Amers.  So let’s say they lose my business alone, and no one else’s.   That’s about $20/month lost revenue.  So that’s 2000 cents. let’s also say these cup holders cost 1 cent each.  Do they sell 2000 cups of coffee a month?   Maybe. But remember that is just 2 fewer sandwiches per month.   Who knows how many Big-Pharma-hating customers like myself might be deterred from purchasing their food.
This idea makes no financial sense and is just plain annoying. So hey– big shot Amer’s manager that thought he was saving $20 a month or whatever you saved on the insulators…  you just lost it all because I’m going to the other Amer’s next time.  (Unfortunately Amer’s sandwiches are quite good.  I’ll see if the other one also has Big Pharma ads on the coffee.)

Why might a customer might be offended by an advertisement for a vaccine on their coffee?  Well first of all it contains all kinds of nasty stuff, including aluminum and sodium borate, and has caused at least 50 deaths  and thousands of adverse events so far- according to the CDC’s own stats (reality is probably much higher).

As of May 31, 2010, approximately 29.5 million doses of Gardasil were distributed in the United States.

ok, DISTRIBUTED, but how many of those have actually been used? This is ambiguous. But for the sake of argument let’s assume they’ve all been administered.

As of May 31, 2010, there were 16,140 VAERS reports of adverse events following Gardasil vaccination in the United States. Of these reports, 92% were reports of events considered to be non-serious, and 8% were reports of events considered serious.

8% of 16,140 is 1,291.  So there are 1,291 “serious” adverse events in their database.

VAERS defines serious adverse events as adverse events that involve hospitalization, permanent disability, life-threatening illness, and death.

So where is the evidence that this vaccine is actually going to prevent cancer?  Where are the 20-year clinical safety trials?  Is this vaccine even necessary?   We have the evidence that the vaccine is harming thousands of girls, yet no evidence at all that it prevents cancer.  And now they’re advertising the stuff on my coffee cup!

Someone please prove to me that this vaccine has reduced cervical cancer in the ~ 5 years it’s been on the market

  • Opsommer to introduce statutory version of HJR YY to affirm 10th amendment and to protect against illegal memorandums of agreement

    July 7, 2010
    GOPHouse.com

State Rep. Paul Opsommer (R-DeWitt) announced today that with HJR YY and SJR Y not making it onto the ballot that he would be introducing a statutory version of the federalism bills as a backup to keep the issue moving.

“It is disappointing that we could not get this needed law onto the ballot, especially with what a bad year it has been for federal overreach,” said Opsommer. “But based on the events of this week it is now more clear than ever that the Legislature needs a better way to enforce the 10th Amendment.”

HJR YY is designed to create a new joint commission on federalism as a way to allow states an expedited process for addressing potentially unconstitutional laws that come out of Washington. It would also help the Legislature get a handle on the many so called “Memorandums of Understanding” and “Memorandums of Agreement” that state agencies are entering into with the federal government without legislative oversight. Opsommer said that such agreements were proliferating and pointed to the Enhanced Driver’s License MOA as a prime example of how the bureaucratic agreements are being used to skirt legislative intent.

“Right now there are many officials responding to people’s dislike for REAL ID by stating that they are opposed to it and would not allow the law to be enacted here,” said Opsommer. “The reality is that Michigan has already signed on to meet all REAL ID benchmarks through the backdoor when the Memorandum of Agreement for Enhanced Driver’s Licenses was signed. The validity for such an agreement should go right out the window because it represents such a clear violation of legislative intent. But right now we have few checks and balances to correct these agreements, and unless our next Secretary of State rescinds it, the agreement will continue to, in my opinion, illegally carry the force of law.”

HJR YY contains a provision to validate the language of such MOAs before they go into effect. Opsommer pointed to research he had conducted that shows no one in state government knows exactly how many MOAs have been entered into and what they contain, yet they have the force of law despite having no basis in Michigan statute. Many are not available to the public online, and there is no central repository for them.

Opsommer also pointed to his new bill HB 6208, which would prohibit a Secretary of State from entering into further MOAs such as the international license compact known as the Driver’s License Agreement (DLA).

“The job of Secretary of State has always been more complex than many people realize, but it has increasingly become about so much more than election laws,” said Opsommer. “Our next Secretary of State is going to be on the frontlines of either fighting or acquiescing to major proposed federal changes with our licenses, use of RFID, and automated tolling and ticketing by cameras. It is an important office that I respect, but I don’t think it should be allowed to unilaterally enter us into agreements like it did with REAL ID.”

Opsommer said that the statutory version of HJR YY will be ready by the end of the month, and that HB 6208 has already been assigned to the transportation committee.
